What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapeutic modality initially developed by Francine Shapiro for the treatment of trauma. EMDR incorporates bilateral stimulation in the form of eye movements or tapping. The bilateral stimulation is thought to activate the individual’s natural information processing abilities, similarly as they would be activated in REM sleep. This allows for the negatively stored information, the trauma, to be re-processed and stored adaptively within the individual’s past. The goal is for the trauma to no longer negatively impact day to day functioning.

• I am EMDR trained which means I completed the initial training and consultation hours and have been deemed capable of providing quality EMDR treatment.

Ongoing Training and Consultation

• I am working towards EMDR certification.

• I engage in monthly consultation with an EMDRIA approved trainer Robin Shapiro.

Who is Robin Shapiro?

Robin is a known author, editor, trainer, EMDR, consultant and therapist. It is an absolute honor to have the privilege of working with her and learning from her.

• I have in person and virtual availability.

• I’ve got a cute little office in West Madison. at 6709 Raymond Rd Madison WI, 53719.

• The entrance is at the back of the building. It’s the door farthest to the left if you are facing the building.

• There is a cozy waiting area. I’m in office #28.
